by René Beekman & Bruce Gremo
Bruce Gremo and René Beekman have created a multiple computer instrument, 'Route', on which they improvise with concrete and synthetic audio as well as projected video materials, using various digital processing strategies. They control these processes using shakuhachi and flute, EWI (electronic wind instrument), and wacom tablet. Both performers are connected to a single computer network where their respective control data is collected and processed. Here each performer's control data is offset, routed, re-routed, modulated, and evolved by the otherís control data, eventually to be sent off to the audio and video processing patches. A process of continuously re-learning how to loose control.
