The Process series (2005 - ongoing) is typical of Reas approach to programming. The artist defines, in English language, a process, based on an “element” which operates on a “form” (a circle, a line) through various “behaviours”. The software was implemented by Reas in Winter 2005 with C++ and OpenGL, but nothing prevents another programmer, in another time, from implementing the same process in another language. What’s important, and what remains untouched, is the text. The work is the text, as in LeWitt’s Wall Drawings. The rest is subject to the temporality of the medium it uses.

Reas has exhibited his work internationally at institutions including Laboral (Gijon, Spain), Whitney Museum (New York), and the National Museum for Art, Architecture, and Design (Oslo), at independent venues, galleries and festivals.
