The installation Color Sequencer reveals an interesting aesthetical and conceptual simplicity. As the artist explains, “the setup is 3 TVs facing the wall attached to 3 Atari 2600 consoles, and the Ataris are programmed to play a repeating sequence of colour that lasts about 4 minutes.” Every colour is the result of the mix of light emitted by the two strips - each with a different colour - in which the screen is split, generating a sensation of light vibration enforced by the modulation of the TV monitor refresh frequency. What we get could be described as a Rothko of the 8bit generation.

Slocum has had exhibitions and conferences in many venues, and recently showed his work at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York (2008). Since 2006 he has been the director of the And/Or Gallery in Dallas.
