Virage platform

The research project VIRAGE is a platform which studies and develops software prototypes to help artistic creation and cultural industries to control and write their projects.

VIRAGE, funded by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (France), started in January 2008 and ends in 2010. VIRAGE gathers art centers (the GMEA, didascalie.net), universities research labs (CICM, LIMSI, LaBRI), creative firms (RSF, Stantum, Blue Yeti) and other partners from France and Belgium such as iMAL in Brussels. iMAL is in charge of artistic experimentation exploring the usages of methods and tools developed in Virage, especially in the context of interactive installations and audiovisual performances.

iMAL has selected three art projects for experimentation: "Peer Oh, my Teddy” by Pascale Barret, "Territoires instables" by Laura Colmenares and "M / M" by Yacine Sebti.

The participation of iMAL in VIRAGE received support from the Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique from Belgium's Communauté française.
